This busy week began with a number of free events, we have two opportunities left tomorrow (Tuesday) to observe Pepe Romero give his Master Classes at USC (always an enlightening experience), then on Wednesday the Ventura County Classical Guitar Society holds its monthly meeting in Camarillo featuring Andre Giraldo, and on Friday evening the City of Artesia offers its open air Mariachi Festival from 5 to 10PM Then on Sunday evening Thomas Dunford offers a lute recital in Brentwood

And this would ordinarily be too distant a venue to include in our listing, but next Sunday afternoon members of the LA Guitar Quartet with a number of other superb guitarists are offering a benefit concert in Paradise, CA, to help rebuild the music and art community of the town which was destroyed by the Camp Fire last year Most of us here are not likely to be able to attend, but you can buy tickets to donate to refugees from the fire who can't buy their own
