Date: March 18th 2012

This Thursday at noon the guitarist/composer Shingo Fujii offers a free Master Class and lecture at USC as part of his month-long US visit Then we've got a festival-mania weekend, with the 8th Annual LMU Guitar Festival at Loyola Marymount from Friday to Sunday, the NACUSA-LA Guitarathon in Culver City on Saturday and Pasadena on Sunday, and the Los Angeles International Flamenco Festival in Redondo Beach on Saturday & Sunday

On a sadder note, many of you already know of the passing of Richard Glenn in December Richard was a wonderful performer, a gifted teacher and composer, and an important figure for many years in the world of classical guitar and baroque music in southern California He was a long-time member of the Orange County Guitar Circle, having serving as its President and, for many years, as the director of its Showcase Recital series He was my own classical guitar teacher and close friend, he will be sorely missed by me and by many others There's a link on the OCGC web site to the program for the Celebration of Life which was held in Irvine earlier this month, and to his obituary which appeared in the OC Register
