I'm running late this week, but in time to remind you of the OC Classical Guitar Festival and Competition taking place this Saturday and Sunday at Chapman University As part of this festival, on Saturday evening Tengyue Zhang (the 2017 GFA winner) will appear in the Guitar Circle's Featured Artist recital series (free to members), and on Saturday afternoon the world-renown Manuel Barrueco will be performing at the campus' Musco Center (tickets are also available independently of the Festival) The Festival will also include Master Classes by both artists, the semifinal and final rounds of the Adult and Youth divisions of the Guitar Competition, concerts by a variety of invited ensembles, talks by Frank Koonce, Jack Sanders and Jonathan Kellerman, a screening of Jeff Cogan's documentary film about the French luthier Daniel Friederich, and a two-day Vendor Fair The Festival begins at 9AM on Saturday, and advance registration is available on the OCGC web site,

Just one other event still on this week's schedule, on Saturday evening the American Guitar Society holds its monthly meeting in Valley Glen, free as always
