The Mexican star Alfonso Moreno on tour with the State Symphony Orchestra of Mexico and will appear in the area twice this week, performing Ponce's "Concierto del Sur" in Costa Mesa on Thursday evening, and Rodrigo's "Concierto de Aranjuez" in Northridge on Friday. Also on Thursday Peter Yates offers an evening of guitar with voice and strings at UCLA, and on Friday at lunchtime Buzz Gravelle appears in a free faculty recital at Cal Poly Pomona. Tonight at USC the brilliant SoloDuo offer a free recital...the required reservation list is currently full, but they're performing one more time on Wednesday at Cal State Northridge.
